Privacy Policy
ReactoPet helps you keep track of your pet's care, earn ReactoPoints, and dress up a pixel-art avatar of your pet. ReactoPet for Business lets pet businesses, such as vet clinics, groomers, shelters, daycares, trainers and pet sitters, send appointments, reminders and documents to the owners who link with them. This policy explains what information the ReactoPet app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. ReactoPet is operated by Sebastian Piperis ("we", "us").
Information we collect
- Account: your email address and display name. Optionally, a profile photo.
- Pet information you enter: your pet's name, species, breed, age or birthday, sex, weight, allergies, and care records such as weight check-ins, meals, medications and supplements, vet appointments, reactions, notes, and emergency and insurance contacts.
- Photos and documents: pet photos you choose to upload, and documents such as vaccine certificates (PDFs or photos) that you, or a business you linked, add to your pet.
- Households: caregivers you invite, which pets you share with them, and the name of the person who logged each care record.
- Pals: the friends who collect your pets through a Pals link you send, and the reactions and gifts you exchange.
- Business accounts: the business's name, type, logo, phone number, email, address and hours, its staff logins, the client list it keeps, and the profiles a shelter creates for animals in its care.
- Purchases: ReactoPoints and the ReactoPet for Business subscription are handled by Apple. We receive a transaction identifier and the subscription's status, never your payment details.
- Notifications: a push notification token for your device, your time zone and the app's language, so reminders arrive at the right time and in your language.
- Technical logs: standard server logs (such as request times and errors) used to keep the service running and secure.
How we use it
- To run the app: show your pets, records and rewards, and sync them across your devices, your household and the businesses you link.
- To create your pet's avatar from the photo you provide.
- To send reminders and notifications, such as feeding, medication and appointment reminders, messages from businesses you linked, and pet check-ins. You can turn them off in Settings.
- To show you an invitation when a business has added you to its client list by your email address.
- To confirm purchases and subscriptions with Apple.
- To protect the service, fix problems and answer support requests.
We do not sell your information, we do not show ads, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Who processes your information
We use these service providers to run ReactoPet. They only receive what they need to do their job:
- Supabase: sign-in and file storage (photos, avatars, documents and business logos).
- Railway: hosting and the database.
- OpenAI: when you create or change an avatar, your pet's photo is sent to OpenAI to generate the pixel-art image. Please only upload photos you are comfortable sending for this purpose.
- Resend: delivery of sign-in and password emails.
- Apple and Expo: Apple processes purchases and subscriptions and delivers push notifications; Expo relays notification requests.
Who else can see your information
- Caregivers you invite can see the pets you choose to share and add care records for them.
- Pals: a friend who collects your pet through a Pals link you send can see its name, its avatar and the care ReactoPoints it earned in the last 7 days (on the Pals leaderboard), and can react to it and send it gifts.
- Public profile link: if you turn on a public pet profile link, the limited profile details shown on that page are visible to anyone who has the link. You can turn it off at any time.
- Businesses you link: see "Businesses" below.
Businesses
When you link a pet to a business (with its code, its QR code or its invitation), the business and all of its staff can see:
- your pet's name, avatar, species, breed, sex, whether it is spayed or neutered, age or birthday, weight and microchip number;
- its allergies and current medications;
- your name, your email address and the phone number in your pet's emergency info.
The business can send you appointments, reminders and documents for that pet and keep its own notes, and it can see when you remove one of its reminders. It cannot see your other care records, your other pets or your household. You can mute or unlink a business at any time from your pet's Care Team. Unlinking ends its access to your pet. What it already sent stays with your pet, and the business keeps its own client record, such as your name and any contact details it entered itself.
A business can keep a client list with names, email addresses, phone numbers and pet names, including people who don't use ReactoPet. The business is responsible for having permission to add them. We store the list for the business and use an email address on it only to show that person an invitation in the app if they have a ReactoPet account with that email. We don't email or text the people on a business's client list; the business sends its own invitations. A business cannot see whether someone has a ReactoPet account unless that person links a pet.
A shelter can create a profile for an animal in its care (such as its name, breed, age, microchip number, allergies, food, medications and notes) and give the adopter a link to add it. Adding it moves the profile into the adopter's account, linked to the shelter. Until the link is used, anyone who has it can see the animal's name and the shelter's name.
A business's name, logo and contact details are shown to the owners who link with it and on its invitation pages. Business logos are stored as public images.
Keeping and deleting your information
We keep your information while your account exists. You can delete your account in the app at Settings → Account details → Delete account. This permanently deletes your account, your pets, their photos, avatars, documents and records, and ends the access of any businesses you linked. A business keeps its own client record, as described above; ask the business if you want it removed. Copies in backups may remain for a short time before they are removed.
Deleting the last login of a business account also deletes the business, its client list and its animal profiles. What it already sent to owners stays with their pets. Deleting an account does not cancel a subscription; cancel it in your Apple ID settings.
Your choices and rights
You can view and correct your information in the app. You can turn reminders and notifications off in Settings, and remove caregivers or unlink businesses at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights to access, correct or delete your information; email us at privacy@reactopet.com and we will help.
Security
Information is sent over encrypted connections. Access to each account's data is limited to that account, the households it belongs to and the businesses its owner linked, and documents are stored privately and opened through short-lived links. No online service is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
ReactoPet is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
Changes to this policy
If we make important changes, we will update the date on this page and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
